Melony will lead the Edinburgh-headquartered company’s revenue strategy, with a clear focus on geographical, proposition and partnership expansion as part of a UK-wide growth roadmap. This roadmap will be centred around the continued evolution of the company’s portfolio to meet the changing needs of its customers in both the public and private sectors.
By aligning solutions more closely with sector-specific challenges, Mel intends to drive greater value for customers, citizens and consumers, whilst reinforcing Commsworld as a market-leading, trusted connectivity partner.
With more than 30 years of industry experience, Mel’s previous management positions range from Regional Sales Director to Managing Director of complex IT businesses.
Most recently at Capita, as Client Partner for Local and Regional Partnerships, she led strategy and delivery across its public sector portfolio, having previously overseen the highly-successful Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) as Managing Director.
Melony said: “I am proud to be joining Commsworld at a pivotal time in the company’s evolution. I have been impressed in recent years by the way in which Commsworld has secured major contracts and delivered exceptional value for customers. I believe that Commsworld is uniquely positioned to support the public and private sector in tackling some of the biggest UK challenges. These include safer social housing, digital exclusion, public service re-design, and business resilience – not because of our national infrastructure and valued propositions, but because we place customers at the heart of what we do, delivering affordable, reliable connectivity.”
Steve Langmead, Chief Executive of Commsworld, said: “I am delighted to welcome Melony to Commsworld as our first Chief Revenue Officer, an important new role for the company. We have achieved so much over the last few years, especially in terms of long-term public sector contracts, doubling our turnover in five years from £20m to £40m. I now want Commsworld to more than double that again over the next five years. Melony will be a very important driving force behind ensuring we continue to exceed customer needs in a world of ever-increasing demand for reliable, resilient and efficient outcome-based connectivity across the UK.”
