Job Purpose
|
The role of the Fibre Planner is to produce robust and cost-effective civils and fibre-optic infrastructure designs in accordance with defined methodologies, architecture, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities
As a minimum you may be called upon to undertake all or some of these activities as required
|
- To design suitable civils and fibre optic infrastructure which are cost-effective, fit-for-purpose and future-proof.
- Core Network Design
- Fibre Design – SLD’s, Fibre Allocation
- To undertake Site Surveys in accordance with safety guidelines.
- To forecast capex and opex requirements of designed infrastructure projects.
- To produce detailed industry-standard documentation of that design.
- To be rigorous with respect to data quality within the asset and customer management systems.
- To drive consistency, quality, suitability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Produce bill of materials

Professional Profile
|
- A background in Fibre Networks with an awareness of planning.
- Civils and Cable Planning Knowledge including NRSWA and Street works practices
- Ability to draw together different technical disciplines
- External and internal planning experience and current knowledge of associated passive network elements and optical budget limitations
- External site survey experience
- Internal site Surveys Experience
- Experience of PIA projects
- Openreach Portal Experience
- Planning knowledge to 3rd Party sites
- Proven track record of planning successful projects
- MS Office - Excel, Word, Visio
- PIMS skills (Would be beneficial)
- QGIS (Would be beneficial)
- NRSWA
- PIA accreditation
