Network Automation Engineer

Reports to: Head of Network Operations

Based: Remote working but travel around UK will be required

Expected Salary: £50-60k based on experience

Job Overview:

Commsworld is seeking a skilled Network Automation Engineer to join its Network Operations Team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions for our Juniper Networks routers using Ansible and Python. You will also be responsible for the day to day maintenance of the network.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

Collaborating with team members to identify automation opportunities and develop solutions
Writing and maintaining Ansible playbooks and Python scripts to automate routine tasks and processes on Juniper Networks routers
Troubleshooting and debugging automation issues as they arise
Evaluating and recommending new automation tools and technologies
Development and maintenance of Commsworld’s Core Network
Engage in large scale customer projects to ensure the Commsworld Network can support
Resolving support escalations from 1st and 2nd line teams
Driving changes on the Commsworld Fluency network
Attending PoP’s to maintain up to date network documentation
Some out of office hours working and participation in an on-call rota

Required Skills:

5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer, with experience working on Juniper Networks routers
Experience with Ansible and Python for network automation
Strong knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF
Knowledge of MPLS technologies i.e. L2Circuit/VPLS/L2VPN/L3VPN
Knowledge of MPLS signalling protocols, namely RSVP
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
