Broadband

We have all been used to ADSL Broadband services for many a year and whilst it served a purpose of getting businesses onto the internet in the first place, the poor speeds and distance restrictions generally make it not fit for purpose today.

Newer technologies offering much better speed and reliability performance are EFM (Ethernet first Mile) and FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet).

EFM is a business service that provides near fibre-optic quality connectivity for a fraction of the cost. EFM uses multiple copper pairs to provide connectivity from the local telephone exchange to the customer’s premises and Commsworld Fluency’s EFM bonds the lines at the physical layer, providing a much faster and more reliable service providing fully symmetric speeds and low latency, making it perfect for modern business applications.

Fluency currently has multiple versions of this product available to achieve speeds of up to 10 and 40 megabits per second respectively. Whilst speeds are distance variable, most metropolitan areas can achieve at least 80% of the maximum speed. FTTC is the next step along where there is a Fibre circuit delivered to the nearest cabinet in the street therefore dramatically reducing that final coper reach and there for delivering much faster speeds. The present higher ranges offer 80Mbs downstream and 20Mb upstream. This is ideal for Internet Broadband users though for dedicated business services please see our EoFTTC (Ethernet over FTTC) solution.
