New Blog - Mobile Roaming Data Mine Field |

For many of you that have heard on the news, read in the paper or heard in general chat, there has been a new law passed by the European Commission on Roaming Data. It has been introduced to stop the “Bill Shock” when people have been using their Blackberry’s, HTC’s and iPhones’s alike abroad and have returned home to a “shockingly” high bill. With cases reported as high as £14k and €45k the European Commission decided to pass a new law to limit these costs.

It was easier said than done however Team Commsworld rose to the Challenge and completed the Rob Roy Challenge 2010. Team Commsworld were officially last on two counts; we were the last team to cross the finish line, officially timed at 12 hours and 33 minutes for the event. More importantly we were officially last out of the pub the night before (or should I say early hours of the morning). Officially timed at 12.45 am, there was a lot of synergy therefore with our official time for the event, and the time that we left the pub!

IMPORTANT: EU DATA ROAMING CAP UPDATE #1 |

Dear Customer,
From 1st July 2010, new EU legislation means that all European based mobile telecom providers have to cap their data roaming charges. What exactly does this mean? Customers mustn't be charged more than 50 Euros (ex VAT) per mobile for their data usage when in the EU, without being informed in advance.
