Subsea 7 is one of the world’s leading subsea engineering contractors with offshore operations supported out of the UK, Norway, Asia Pacific, Brazil, Gulf of Mexico, West Africa and the Caspian and employs 3000 world-wide and five locations in Scotland.


Subsea 7 offers the oil and gas industry the opportunity to utilise 14 multi-purpose vessels, more than 100 remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).  Four pipeline construction yards and a wide range of other assets which together with our strong engineering and project management teams combine to form this integrated company. 

 

 

Overview of Solution
Commsworld have been successful in securing a 3 year contract from Subsea 7 to provide them with an integrated telephony solution based upon the highly successful Avaya Index system.  Apart from delivering full integration across all sites with an integrated numbering system for ease of use, this solution will deliver significant savings in the elimination of all inter-site voice call traffic.


The Avaya integrated systems will support the inter-site data communications that are key critical for the running of the business.  At the end of the roll out, Subsea 7 will reap significant savings, and benefit from enhanced integrated communications, and have a flexible platform to support the changing needs of the organisation moving forward.


Apart from the provision of the Avaya Index platform, Commsworld have supplied Subsea 7 with an improved cabling infrastructure as well as significant savings on all the call traffic going out of the organisation, utilising the Commsworld  billing platform.


The Challenge

With five locations in Scotland, Subsea 7 wanted to enhance and rationalise all voice communications within the region allowing for further connectivity solutions to each global site. Subsea 7 instigated a full tendering process to set about harmonising the technologies across the sites, enhancing the services to their workforce in addition to reducing costs.
