Continuing on with our sponsorship of the first team Commsworld are also now providing funding to the minis.
This contribution from Commsworld will help to fund coaching and refereeing for all the junior sides as providing kit from P1-P7 and S1-S4; and help to set-up their acadamy which aims to focus on developing a club culture from the way they play their social acitivities to providing a strong focus on social responsibility through access to quality rugby coaching for all children across their community and schools.
Commsworld recognises the contribution our staff plays in our success and as such we fully endorse the Scottish Governments Living Wage Campaign to deliver a living wage as a minimum commitment for our employees. We are firmly of the view that employers should reward their staff fairly and would encourage businesses throughout the country to support the living wage campaign.
The new rate of £7.85 will apply from 1 April 2015 as part of 2015-16 pay settlements and the Government is funding a pilot by the Poverty Alliance over the next year, to promote take up of the living wage and increase the number of employers paying it. Director of the Poverty Alliance, Peter Kelly, said: "The living wage in Scotland is now gaining genuine momentum with employers - the number of employers paying it here has tripled from 20 to 60 in the last six months."
Sport plays a big part in people’s lives in Scotland and Commsworld has a long tradition of delivering support in this area. In particular a lot of us are football daft so we thought it natural to help out a fantastic cause in Aberdeen which helps bring on the football skills and confidence of talented young footballers in the area. The Denis Law Soccer Tournament has been running since 2011 and gives kids an experience that will stay with them forever.
Denis Law says: “The support of companies like Commsworld for our football tournament is very welcome. It is helping to make a big difference in assisting the development of talented local children in the Aberdeen area and providing them with an excellent opportunity to test their skills against visiting teams.
“Sport - and in this case football - forms an important part of a child’s upbringing and I firmly believe the experience and enjoyment that kids get from this tournament in my home town will stay with them forever.”
In the past we’ve also been proud shirt sponsors for Motherwell FC and Hibernian’s under 19s.
ENABLE Scotland is a dynamic charity which campaigns for a better life for children and adults with learning disabilities. It supports people who have learning disabilities and their families to live, work and take part in their communities. Commsworld sales director Mark Wright sits on the charity’s fundraising board – and together we raised funds by taking part in Pedal for Scotland, Scotland’s biggest bike ride.
Commsworld entered into a sponsorship agreement to support the club’s Scottish Rugby Premiership campaign. The agreement, worth a four figure sum, sees the company’s logo adorn the Edinburgh side’s shorts and stadium advertising at Meggetland. We hope our support will help the club to continue to push the boundaries of what it can achieve.
