Commsworld have been successful in securing a
26 site Wide Area Network solution with Edinburgh Leisure, the
management company of all the sports facilities belonging to the
City of Edinburgh Council.
The solution made up of Thus circuits, Avaya IP Office switches
and a central Cisco router, is unique in its design. Edinburgh
Leisure had no WAN structure in place and needed to urgently implement
a solution that would support their key financial application.
What made the Commsworld solution stand out was the use of
Avaya IP Office as the gateway routing device at the remote
sites, thereby allowing these smaller sites to add voice capability
as and when they require.
This will ultimately allow Edinburgh Leisure to have an integrated
voice and data network across all sites with little further capital
investment.

As the success of the Network Services side of
the Commsworld portfolio continues, Commsworld has boosted the internal
skill set of the organisation in order to continue to supporting
our customers to the best of our ability.
Andy Arkle, Director of Network Services, said “As

As Network Operations Manager, Rory McEwan brings a wealth
of experience in delivering internal processes to support the
delivery of quality services. Having gained excellent recognition
for his previous roles in Totem Communications, ntl and Telewest,
Rory is looking forward to introducing new offerings to the Commsworld
family.
Sam Dick-Marner joins us on the sales side from STL Network,
where she contributed significantly to the growth in their billing
platform. Sam’s knowledge in all things voice related is
second to none. Having moved from England, we welcome her to the
Scottish marketplace and look forward to her continuing her initial
successes.

the Thus annual conference, held at the Gleneagles Hotel on Tuesday
10th June, Commsworld were presented with the award of 'Top
Performing Reseller in the UK'.
This further enhances the companies growing reputation as the countries
leading voice and data solutions provider.

Commsworld ‘Walk the Talk’ by adopting
a fully converged IP solution over the Wide Area Network. This delivers
voice, video and data over a single network and utilises business
applications such as Unified Messaging and Voice over IP.
A recent independent survey verified that convergence is a key
business concern with over 73 percent of Enterprises already migrating
to a converged network, or plan to in the next one to two years.
This enhancement coincides with Commsworld’s most prolific
period of growth ever on the back of significantly increased customer
demand for converged solutions. |

 On
Thursday 21st of November at the prestigious Deloitte & Touche
fast 50 awards held at the Glasgow Science Centre Commsworld were
awarded the title of the 10th fastest growing technology
company in Scotland.
This follows on from the previous year when we were placed 18th.
This is testament to the progress being made by Commsworld and is
recognition of the ability of our staff and the diversification
strategy adopted and implemented by the company over the last few
years.
